Daniel D. Lopes, age 52 of Assonet, passed away June 12, 2013 at Brigham & Woman's Hospital. He was the husband of Amarill "Ann" (Nunes) Lopes and the son of the late Elaine (Costa) Lopes. Dan worked for the Massachusetts DOT as a Laborer II. He was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church, a member of the New England Patriots (north side)End Zone Militia, the 13th Continental/Rehoboth Minute Men, and the United Train of Artillary from RI.
In addition to his wife of Assonet, he is survived by his son, Daniel D. Lopes Jr. of Assonet; siblings: Daniel Hamilton, Dawn Betsold, Dee Blangeard all of FL. He was the brother in law of Doris Nunes & Debbie Ponte, both of Taunton, Rev. James Nunes M.S. of New York City, and the late Gary Nunes.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River TUESDAY at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bernard Church, Main St. Assonet at 10:00 A.M. Cremation to follow. Calling hours MONDAY 4-8pm.
