LEICESTER/ CENTERVILLE, OHIO: Ellen A. (Abbott) Alexander, 89, of Centerville and formerly of Leicester died Saturday, June 8 in her son’s home after an illness.
She leaves two sons Richard L. Alexander, Sr. and his partner Ruth Woodside of Centerville, OH and Randy L Alexander and his wife Eileen of Leicester, a sister Marion Mann of North Brookfield, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two sons Bob and Ralph Alexander.
Mrs. Alexander was born in Barre, daughter of Ralph E. and Hazel E. (Sargent) Abbott. She served her country during WW II in the United States Marine Corp. She started the first pre-school in Leicester and operated it for 30 years. She enjoyed gardening and camping.
Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be held at the convenience of the family.
