Obituary

Salisbury – Bernard J. Fallon, 86, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Boston Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Hilda C. (Arsenault) Fallon, to whom he was married for 64 years.

Bernard, son of the late Bernard and Sadie (Malane) Fallon, was born in Lawrence on June 6, 1927. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and then served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a firefighter with the Lawrence Fire Department for over 30 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a founding member of the Lawrence Relief’s Inn. In his free time, Bernard loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid sports enthusiast and was able to live his dream of owning a house on the ocean.

Bernard will be deeply missed by his wife, Hilda; daughter, Beverly Schechter and her husband, Ernesto of Lawrence; 5 sons, Timothy Fallon and his wife, Leesa of Tampa, FL, William Fallon of Tampa, FL, Bernard Fallon and his partner, Val Leitao of Oakland Park, FL, John Fallon of Salisbury, and Dr. Christopher Fallon of Salisbury; 8 grandchildren, Zachary and Alexandra Schechter and Jonathan, Justine, Maura, Sean, Patrick, and Shannon Fallon; a great grandson, Blake Fallon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Francis and James Fallon and a sister, Dorothy McCarthy.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Bernard’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the KENNETH H. POLLARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Friday from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel / St. Augustine’s Chapel in Lawrence. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in N. Andover.
