Elizabeth McDonough, age 85, of Marlboro, passed away Tuesday, August 17th, following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard McDonough. Born and raised in Stoneham she was the daughter of the late Sarah Louise (Smyth) and Patrick J. Callahan.
Mrs. McDonough was a resident of Marlboro for many years formerly of Woburn and Stoneham. She worked for fifteen years for the Alcon Corp. of Marlboro where she did secretarial and bookkeeping work. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed reading and traveling when ever possible. Mrs. McDonough was an active parishioner for many years at the Immaculate Conception Church in Marlboro and was also a member of the Ladies Sodality.
She is survived by her children, Richard of Manchester, NH, Anne McDonough of Framingham, Jane Eng of Brockton, Michael McDonough of Hyde Park, Elizabeth O;Neil of West Lafayette, IN, Mary O´Donnell of Worcester and the late Robert McDonough. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is further survived by her sister Julia Gannon of Swampscott and is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Joseph and Francis Callahan.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn Friday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
