In Fall River, June 12, 2013 Catherine M. LaPorte, age 88 passed away in Kimwell Nursing Home in Fall River following a lengthy illness. Catherine was the wife of the late Albert R. LaPorte. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Robert & Mabel (Burgoyne) Conaty. Catherine was a graduate of Taunton High School, class of 1943. She worked as a secretary for Taunton High School. Catherine enjoyed reading, crocheting, bowling, her cottage in Berkley and above all cherished her time with family. Catherine is survived by her children Barry P. LaPorte of Provincetown, Joyce A. LaPorte of Fall River, Donna M. McMahon of Vernon, CT and Karen A. Farrell of Berkley. She also leaves her eight grandchildren. Catherine leaves her brother James Conaty of Carver and her late siblings Robert Conaty, Mabel Conaty, Marjorie Digits and Thelma Wise. Catherine also leaves several nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Saturday, June 15th at 9 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday from 6-8 pm. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
