Obituary

Richard T. Johnson, Sr., age 83, of West Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died Monday June 10, 2013 at his home surrounded by family. He was the husband for 57 years of the late Harriet E. (Lorette) Johnson. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Mary E. (Fitzpatrick) Johnson. He was an Air Force veteran of both Korea and Vietnam and spent the next 20 years in the Air Force. Following his service in the Air Force he was employed for 15 years in the Brockton Post Office. An avid dancer in his youth, Richard competed in many local dance offs. He enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods, Twin Rivers and Las Vegas with his family as well as horse racing, playing cards, golfing, stock car races, and watching the Daytona 500.

Richard is survived by his six children, Richard T. Johnson, Jr. of Warwick, RI, Edward C. of Bridgewater, Mary E. Capen of West Bridgewater, Brian D. of Grand Prairie, TX, James L. of Bayonne, NJ and Theresa M. Wolk of Brockton; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren a sister Barbara Hamilton of Brockton, and brother Robert Johnson of Brockton and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Johnson, ret BPD, William Johnson, Thelma Angelo and Mary and Dorothy Johnson.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 4-8pm, with a Funeral Service, Friday at 10am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
