Deborah L. O'Brien, 57, of Marshfield, passed peacefully into heaven on June 9, at home surrounded by loving family, after a 10-month battle with cancer. She was the treasured wife and best friend of Dan O'Brien and the beloved "worlds coolest Mom" to J.Mitch O'Brien of Marshfield, Dani O'Brien of Northampton, Jesse Plaud of Grafton, Jason Plaud of Norwood and Jay O'Brien and his wife Rie of Revere. She is also survived by her mother and father, Linda and Richard Giguere of Gilford, NH, as well as her sister Tammy Stone of Webster, MA. She had a very close knit family consisting of many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as in-laws who were all held dearly in her heart.
During their 31 years of marriage Deborah and Dan lived in Worcester, Spencer, Danielson, CT, Holliston and Brant Rock prior to moving to Marshfield Hills last year. After graduating from Quinsigamond Community College she worked as a licensed social worker in a variety of roles involving teen moms, child literacy and other social service activities.
People mattered to Deborah, and she took time to listen to them, remembering many details about her extensive network of dear friends. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Brant Rock. She also had offered up her home and her time to be a foster parent.
Visiting hours will be this Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church in Brant Rock.
The funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 AM also at Victory Baptist Church.
We respectfully request that instead of flowers, donations be made in Deborah's name to "My Brother's Keeper", PO Box 338, Easton, MA 02356.
