Obituary

Lula B. Parsons, 100, died Saturday morning, June 8, 2013 following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Ralph Parsons.
Born in Talmadge, Maine on Sept. 13, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Wellington and Crystal (Riox) Fleet. She was raised and educated in Maine and had been a longtime Danvers resident.
Lula was employed at the former Danvers State Hospital and the former Danvers Diner, and retired from Sylvania after many years.
A longtime member of the Maple Street Congregational Church, she was an accomplished poet and published a novel at age 91.
She is survived by two daughters, Crystal Atherton and her husband Robert of Beverly and Kathleen Geggatt and her husband Philip of Danvers, her grandchildren, Philip Geggatt and his wife Theresa of Raymond, NH, Michael Geggatt and his fiancée Holly Braddy of Amesbury, Karen Alley of Danvers, Susan Panzer of Beverly, Robert Atherton and his partner Megan Bergeron of Beverly, Tracy Thatcher of St. Petersburg, FL, and Mark Jankoski of Rockport, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Donald Jankoski, her granddaughters Sharon Jankoski and Laura Iannitelli, her sister and best friend Bee Patrie, her brother Clifford Fleet, and her former husband Barney Jankoski.
Her Funeral Service will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are invited. As requested, there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crombie Street Shelter, 7 Crombie St., Danvers, MA 01923.
