Whitman – B. Jean (French) Laaperi 83, formerly of Whitman, passed away at home on Sunday June 2 in Port Orange, Florida surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Alvin O. Laaperi.
She was the daughter of the late Gordon and Edith (King) French, and a graduate of Whitman High School.
Jean had been a friendly and familiar face in the Whitman community working for over thirty years in the Whitman Post Office. She had been a respected member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
She is survived by her loving children John Laaperi of Scituate, Diane Pizzano of Plymouth, Deborah Pini of Jamestown, RI, Marie Emery of Port Orange, FL and Ellen Souza of Whitman, her sister Phyllis Andrews of Hanson. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday June 12th at 10:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the Rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday June 11th from 4:00-8:00PM.
