Carl Vinson Tapp, Sr., 67, of Tifton died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Elder Buckey Seymour will officiate with burial to follow in Old Ty Ty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Christopher Moore, Devon Tapp, Ethan Moore, Michael Lunsford, Jamie Lunsford, Stephen Madden, Jordan Garrison, Jamie Taylor and Gordon Tapp will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 9, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Tapp was born on April 10, 1946 in Omega and was the son of Roy T. Tapp and Rillie Mae Goddard Tapp, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. He was a retired mechanic and a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mr. Tapp is survived by his wife, Sandra Elizabeth Tapp of Tifton; four sons, Vince Tapp, Jr. of Tifton, Stephen Madden of Moultrie, Michael Lunsford of Alma and Jamie Lunsford of Tifton; two daughters, Teresa Clark of Savannah and Rhonda Murfin of Moultrie; one brother, Clenon Odie Tapp of Abbeville; one sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Marvin Perkins of Moultrie; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
