Rhonda Rogers
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest June 7, 2013 at University Hospital, Rhonda Rogers, 67.
She retired as the Supervisor of the Histology Laboratory at University Hospital. Following retirement, she worked in Heart Development Research at the Medical College of Georgia and at Indiana University/Perdue University in Indianapolis, IN.
She was a member of the Georgia Society for Histology and served as treasurer, newsletter editor and was twice named Georgia Histotechnologist of the year. She also served as newsletter editor for the National Society for Histology. She had served on the Board of Directors for the Augusta Players.
Surviving family members include sister: Sherron Hoffman of Augusta, GA; niece: Rhonda Lynn Meakim (Sam) of Greenwood, SC; nephew: Michael Robert Hoffman (Cecelia); great-nephews: Casey Frame and Robert Lewyn Hoffman. Ms. Rogers was the daughter of the late William Lewyn Rogers and Jewel Rogers.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Augusta Storey Chapel with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Augusta Computer Ministry, 3500 Walton Way Ext., Augusta, GA 30909.
The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel.
