Obituary

Jesse Lee Ford, age 90, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his home in Horn Lake, MS. He was born in Virginia on December 6, 1922 to the late May Ida Ford. Jesse was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army where he served as a surgical technician and received two purple hearts and a bronze medal. He played professional baseball before and after he served in the military. Jesse owned and operated a service station for a number of years, then worked as a carpenter for TVA until he retired. He was a member of Parkway Village Christian Church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. A graveside service will be held in the Oak Hill Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 following the visitation with Minister Tim Viner officiating.

Jesse is survived by his son, Greg Ford of Memphis, TN; his daughter, Denise Ford Ludolf of Horn Lake, MS; two grandchildren, Stephanie Sandstrom (Jose Luis Nava) of Memphis, TN and Nicole Meaux of Shepardsville, KY; and two great grandchildren, Ryan Nava and Steven Conway.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Ford.
