New Bedford – Margaret (Espinola) Pacheco, 93, died on June 6, 2013 at Bedford Village Nursing Home after a long period of declining health. She was the widow of Gilbert Pacheco, to whom she was married for 69 years.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Santos) Espinola, she was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. Until her retirement, she was employed in the garment industry.
She is survived by her children David Pacheco and his wife Barbara, and Carol Grimes and her husband Glen; her grandchildren John Pacheco and his wife Dolly, Thomas Pacheco and his wife Tracey, and Lisa Andrade and her husband Joseph; her great-grandchildren Katelyn, Jacob, William, Samuel and Sophie Pacheco and Zachary Andrade; her sister Elsie Amaral; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late George, Edward, John and Walter Espinola and Mary Silva.
Mrs. Pacheco’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Wednesday at 8 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
