Estelle S. Guy, 83, of Woonsocket, died Tuesday at Landmark Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Amedee and Aurore (Guilbert) Guy. Estelle was a lifelong resident of the city and a graduate of St. Clare Girls High School.
Estelle was employed as a file clerk at Stock-Weather & Shepley in Providence for several years and also as a key punch operator.
Estelle was a longtime communicant of Precious Blood Church. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
Estelle will be remembered as a sweet lady with a quiet and gentle soul.
She is survived by her sister Sr. Lillian Guy RJM, in residence at St. Antoine, North Smithfield, and by many nieces and nephews and their families including a nephew and niece who were her caregivers for the past several years Guy A. Fleuette and Jeannine Morin both of Bellingham.
She was the sister of the late Aurelien, Leandre, Laurent, Ulyses, Roland, Hilaire, Amedee Jr., Jean-Paul, and Rev. Jules Guy, OMI, Jeannette Fontaine, Gisele Gamache, Yolande Brothers, Aline Fleuette and Bernadette Forget.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
