George R. “Archi” Palmer, 87, of Shelburne, NH passed away on Tuesday June 4, 2013 at his home. He was born in Lowell, MA on June 9, 1925 the son of Peter and Alice Archambault. He was raised in Pepperell, MA and joined the military at age 17. Archi served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II while serving with the US Navy. After his discharge, he settled in West Long Branch, NJ and married his wife Else in 1961. Archi had also served in the Korean War with the US Army Air Corp. He moved to Shelburne in 2008.
Family includes his daughter Rosemarie VanSant and her husband Marc of Shelburne, NH; granddaughters Gabrielle VanSant and Rachelle VanSant both of Shelburne, NH. He was predeceased by his wife Else A. (Drugemuller) Palmer in 2011.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday June 11, 2013 at 11 AM in the Wheeler Cemetery in Shelburne, NH. There will be no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant St., Suite 900, Pittsburgh, PA, 15219. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
