Obituary

Paul E. Henderson, 75 passed away on June 3, 2013 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia.

He was born in Somerville, MA on July 29, 1937, the son of Elvin and Edith(Gorman) Henderson.

Paul served in the US Army and was honorably discharged after serving overseas in Korea.

While working full time as a meter reader at Boston Gas in Cambridge, Paul earned his Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University and then earned his Bachelor’s degree with honors in Industrial Engineering also at Northeastern University. He continued his education by earning a certificate of Engineering Management at Worcester Polytechnical Institute.

He returned from the Army and worked at Boston/Commonwealth Gas for the next 28 years working his way from a meter reader to Director of Distribution. In 1985, he moved to Dallas, PA to start a new job as Vice President of Operations and Engineering at Pennsylvania Gas and Water. He took early retirement and moved to Daytona Beach/Port Orange where he enjoyed his passion for golf, walking, and investing in the stock market. In 2012, after the passing of his wife Marcia, he moved to Salem, NH to be closer to his family.

Paul was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Marcia (Beaton). He is survived by his daughter Deborah Graziani of Derry, NH and her husband Stephen; his son Brian Henderson of Peterborough, NH and his wife, Donna; his sister Linda Repoza and her husband Ronald, who Paul thought of as his brother; his sister Shirley Hanlon and her husband John; 4 grandchildren, Andrew, Samantha, Thomas, and Joshua and several nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank the staff of both Greystone Farm Assisted Living and Home Helpers who showed great compassion, respect, and care during his time at Greystone Farm.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 6th from 5-8pm at the Douglas Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St Salem, NH. Funeral services are on Friday, June 7th at 11:30am at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s name to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association for Dementia
