Obituary

James M. “Jamie” Ryan, 61, of Oak Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully, Monday, June 3, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Karen (Haskell) Ryan.

Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Milton P. and Eugenie A. (L’Ecuyer) Ryan. He spent the early years of his life in Pawtucket and moved to Riverside 22 years ago.

He had worked for Bartlett Tree Service and later as a Maintenance mechanic for the VA Medical Center in Providence before retiring in 2012. He was a Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast. He was a kind and generous man with a good, dry sense of humor. He was a creative carpenter that had the ability to turn everyday objects into useful pieces of art.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children: Amy Ryan and her fiancé, Jason Callahan and Brett Ryan and Lisa Breslin, of Cumberland, his siblings: Edward Ryan and his wife, Christine of Cumberland, Beverly Melucci and her husband, Robert of Florida, Aurise Carden and Stan Williams of Cumberland, his former wife, Donna (Brett) Ryan, of Cumberland, his sister-in-law, Lee-Ann Lewis, Bristol, his beloved beagle, Joey, and many nieces and nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday 4-7pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Funeral and burial private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101
