Obituary

Augusta, GA – Mr. Harry James Paulos, Jr., 72, entered into rest on Monday, June 03, 2013 at Unihealth Post Acute Care of Augusta after a valiant fight due to a prolonged illness.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:15 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity with Rev. Jacek Szuster serving as celebrant. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Sug was preceded in death by his parents, Harry J. Paulos, Sr. and Kathryn Ricketson Paulos, and by his younger brother, David R. Paulos.

Most of his life was spent in Augusta where he was an excellent high school football player. Sug attended Sacred Heart, Boys Catholic, and Aquinas. He entered into his career in 1962 while working with the Georgia Railroad. In later years he joined CSX. Sug’s position was road conductor. His family and friends, to whom he was incredibly loyal were the highlight of his life.

Survivors include his twin sister, Rebekah P. Girton; his aunts, O L Collins, and Doris and Rachel Paulos; as well as numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Daniel David Ricketson, Fred W. Ricketson, III, Ben McClain, and Paul McClain.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY, 10598.

A vigil for the deceased will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday evening, June 5, 2013, at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel. The family will receive friends following the vigil until 8:00 PM.
