RUTH MARIE (SKEETERS) ROBERTS, passed away on June 1, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Ruth was born on September 7, 1931 in Kosmosdale, KY to Dever C. and Mary Ruth Skeeters. She was a retired employee of the Jefferson County Board of Education, having worked at both Stuart High School and Johnsontown Road Elementary as a clerk. And she was a proud graduate of Valley High School's class of 1949. Ruth also was a long time member of Faith Presbyterian Church, serving several terms as Financial Secretary.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lillis Bailey Roberts, as well as her parents and siblings: Ray Gene and Glenn Skeeters.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Huff (Craig) and Natalie Healy (Tim); and her three grandchildren: Veronica Huff Hyde, Matthew Huff, and Alexandra Healy.
The family would like to thank the staff of Todd-Dickey Medical Center in Leavenworth, IN for their kindness and care over the last 10 years. It was most appreciated.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at her church - Faith Presbyterian Church, 9800 Stonestreet Road with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 – 7 p.m. at Owen's Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
