Mr. Frank R. Eck, of Raynham, died Wednesday, May 29 at his daughter’s residence in South Dennis following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Michaud) Eck. He was born 77 years ago in East St. Louis, Ill., the son of the late Joseph and Madonna (Menard) Eck. He was educated in East St. Louis and had been a Raynham resident for many years. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as an engineer for Amtrak for over 30 years. Frank was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War Era. In recent years, Frank enjoyed operating a snack bar with his wife at Parker’s River Beach in Yarmouth. He also enjoyed sailing, hunting, woodcarving and, most of all, he loved his family. He was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Raynham.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 2 daughters: Linda Eburn and her husband, William of So. Dennis, and Sharyn Sproule and her husband George of E. Bridgewater; 2 brothers: Joseph Eck and his wife, Aileene of Sebring, Fla., and John Eck and his wife, Gloria of Farmington, N.M.; 3 sisters: Dorothy Jacobi and her husband, Wayne of Fenton, Mo., Margaret Finke and her husband, Ken of Centralia, Ill., and Donna Vickers and her husband, Donald of St. Genevieve, Mo.; 2 grandchildren: Traci Watson and William F. Eburn; 2 great grandchildren: Elise and Grant Watson, and several nieces and nephews. Frank was also the brother of the late Marion Gustafson of Illinois.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Tuesday, June 4 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Church, Raynham, at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, Frank’s family asks that you consider becoming an organ donor. Because of someone’s generous act of kindness, we were blessed to have Frank in our lives for 12 additional, priceless years.
