Obituary

Methuen, Ma. – Arthur F. Hutton, 58, died Sunday May 26, 2013 at the Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by his loving family and good friend Bill Fitzgerald following a courageous battle with cancer.
Arthur was born in Lawrence the son of the late William F. Hutton and his living mother Filomena (Martelli) Hutton. He was a lifelong resident of Methuen and a 1973 graduate of Tenney High School. He was the President of Hutton’s General Construction, Inc. from 1982 to present. From 1978 to 1985 managed E.M. Loews Merrimack Park Drive-in Theatre.Very actively involved in Methuen he served on the Board of Assesors, and Community Development Board the Methuen Exchange Club from 1987 to present, Methuen Knights of Columbus 4th degree Knight as well as a member of the Son’s of Italy in Methuen.
Arthur was also the past president of the Methuen Exchange Club in 1990 as well as 2008, he also served in various positions in the New England District Exchange Club’s as a District Director, Vice President as well as co-chairman of the Blue Ribbon Campaign. Arthur was also the recipient of the Methuen XC Book of Golden Deeds Award in 2009 as well as the District Exchange Clubs Exchangite of the year in 2008. Arthur also held various positions in the Methuen XC as treasurer and on the Board of Directors. Arthur was also inducted into the Methuen High School Alumni Hall of Fame last month.
Arthur loved spending time with his family on the beach, fishing on his boat and also loved his vacation trips as well as his trips to Foxwoods.
Arthur was a communicant of Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen.
Arthur is survived by his best friend and wife of 34 years Susan M. (Endyke) Hutton and his son William F. “Billy”, his daughter Katie, her boyfriend Michael Lee and his mother Filomena Hutton all of Methuen. He is also survived by his brother William E. Hutton and his wife Paula of Maine. Also nieces Kelly and her husband Garo Hagopian of Methuen and Tracey Hutton of Maine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday morning at 10 O’clock in Saint Monica’s Church with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
Friends will be warmly received on Wednesday from 3PM to 8PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen.
