Arthur (Artie) Merle Farr, 52, of North Andover, MA passed away on Friday, May 24th. He was the loving father of Heidi Farr and her fiance James Vernier of Dallas, TX, Tyler Farr of Bradford, MA and their mother Alicia (Brown) Farr of Bradford, MA. He is the son of George H. Farr of North Andover and the late Wanda (Hawkins) Farr. He also leaves his brother Norman and wife Ann Farr of Woods Hole, MA, his brother George and wife Christine Farr of North Andover and several nieces and nephews: Sean, Kara and Julia Brown of Methuen, MA and Kaelyn, Braiden, and Ellisyn Farr of North Andover.
Artie was well known and had many long time friends in the North Andover area. He grew up in North Andover, graduated from North Andover High School in 1978 and ran the Farr Farm and Nursery on Salem Street in North Andover as well as working as a carpenter. He not only sold landscape trees but many local families have fond memories of cutting their family Christmas tree at the farm.
Artie was a kind soul who loved his family, pets and his many friends. When he had time to get away, he enjoyed skiing, spending time in Granville, Vermont at the family's muli-generational home and camping on West Hill with his childhood Vermont friends. Artie will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be held at Breen Funeral Home in North Andover between the hours of 4 and 8pm, on Wednesday , May 30th. A Funeral will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Thursday, May 30th at 10:00am.
