May 26, 2013 OBITUARY
NORWOOD - Jose Hector Rivera, 62, died Friday, May 24, 2013 in Beth Israel Hospital, Boston after a long illness.
He leaves his wife, Vilma Rosario; a daughter, Lissette Rivera Gomez of Lynn; 2 grandchildren; 5 brothers, Luis Rivera of Puerto Rico, Wilfredo and Victor Rivera of Webster, and Angel and Luis Rivera of Boston; 6 sisters, Maria, Ana and Carmen Rivera of Puerto Rico, Norma Rivera of Wisconsin, Carmen Rivera of Dudley and Vilma Rodriguez of Southbridge; and many nephews and nieces.
He was born and raised in Puerto Rico, a son of Felipe Rivera and Juana Lobez. He lived in Wisconsin and Boston for many years. He moved to Norwood in 2011.
Mr. Rivera worked in the maintenance department at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton before retiring in 2008 because of illness.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, May 29, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street, Webster. Burial will be in Cementario Municipal de Orocovis, Puerto Rico. Calling hours will be from 9:00 to 10:30AM Wednesday, May 29, in the funeral home.
