Virginia Dale Gastineau Tapp went to be with our Lord on May 24, 2013. She was born November 23, 1927 in Lancaster,Ky. the daughter of Bryan and Nell Gastineau. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Virgil Tapp and her sister Lorraine Hatfield. She is survived by five children; Nelma (Jim) Shipp, Sue (Dwight) Lile, Kenny (Deborah) Tapp, Penny (Doug) Lucas and Becky Tapp. Eight grandchildren; Kim Englert (Joe), Garen Stout (Jeff), Jason Lile (Jessica), Jeremy Lile (Val), Kenny Tapp Jr. (Jennifer),Travis Tapp (Kara), Chris and Caleb Lucas. Fourteen great-grandchildren. She was an active member of Shively Christian Church where she taught Sunday school for 37 years with her best friend Lou Little. She and Virgil helped found Cedar Lake Lodge where she served on the auxillary board; she served on the auxillary board of Christian Care Communities, was on the board of Directors of Kentuckiana Christian Missions, a Kentucky Colonel and was active with the mission work at her church. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Cedar Lake Lodge or Team Expansion. Her funeral service will be 11:30am Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy with entombment at Resthaven Cementery.
