NORTH TEWKSBURY - Thomas J. “Tom” Daley, age 75, died Friday evening, Aug. 13, atSaint’s Memorial Medical Center in Lowell after a brief illness. He was the husband of Shirley(Fontes) Daley, with whom he would have celebrated a 45th wedding anniversary on August 29th.
He was born in Scranton, PA, Dec. 10, 1928, a son of the late Thomas L. and Olive (Breig)Daley. He was raised in Old Forge, PA, but graduated high school in Cranston R.I.He matriculated to the University of Rhode Island where he earned a Bachelors Degree inEngineering. He earned a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from NortheasternUniversity.
He served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Europe.
He retired from the engineering department of AT&T, formerly Western Electric, North Andoverfacility.
He was an active communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in West Andover, where heserved as a Eucharistic Minister.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas L. Daley of Wakefield, RI, James J. Daleyof Cambridge; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and her husband David Laska of Branford,CT, Beth and her husband Peter Krzesinski of Dracut; a sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and herhusband Edward Hoey of Cumberland, RI; and five grandchildren, Genesee Daley, Hope Daley,Samuel Laska, Katherine Laska, and Paige Krzesinski.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 17, in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, West Andover. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
