BEVERLY: Roland O. Routhier, 83, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers following a brief illness. He was the husband of Margaret A. (Sylvestre) Routhier who died in February 2006.
Born in Berlin, New Hampshire on May 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Amedee and Camille (Roy) Routhier. He had resided in Salem for many years before moving to Beverly in 1976. He was a graduate of the former New England School of Pharmacy, now Northeastern University.
Roland was employed as a pharmacist at Rite Aid in Beverly for many years. He also once worked for Brooks Pharmacy and Delaney’s Apothecary in Beverly and Vallancourt Pharmacy in Salem for many years.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jay S. Routhier and Christine Sullivan of Raymond, NH; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Claude and Susan Routhier of Westerly, RI and Leo and Simone Routhier of Laconia, NH; former sister-in-law, Lillian Haglund and her husband, Bror of Old Lyme, CT and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be privately held at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Beverly Bootstrap Food Pantry, 371 Cabot St., Beverly, MA 01915.
