TAUNTON – Maria F. (Mendonca) Rocha, wife of Francisco Rocha of Taunton, died at Massachusetts General Hospital on May 22, 2013.
She was 66.
Born, raised, and educated in Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Borges) Mendonca.
Mrs. Rocha moved to Taunton from the Azores with her husband in 1978.
She was employed as a machine operator for several years and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Mrs. Rocha enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Besides her husband of forty-five years, she leaves two sons, Francisco F. Rocha and his wife Ana P. of Taunton, and Paul H. Rocha of Taunton; seven brothers, Joao Mendonca of CA, Antonio, Jorge, Carlos and Helio Mendonca, all of Taunton, and Jose and Francisco Mendonca, both of East Taunton; a sister, Lurdes St. Laurent of S. Attleboro; two grandchildren, Justin and Kyle Rocha, both of Taunton; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, May 25th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be at Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 24th from 5 to 8 p.m.
