WAYLAND: Eileen Nora (Joyce) O’Mara, 69, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at her residence in Wayland following a period of declining health.
She was born in Newton on February 20, 1944 the daughter of the late Thomas Joyce and Margaret F. (Kilmain) Joyce.
Eileen is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years Paul J. O’Mara of Wayland. Beloved mother of Terri A. O’Mara of Ayer and Gail D. O’Mara of Hampden, Maine. Cherished grandmother of Ryan and Kevin Young and Makenna O’Mara. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Marjorie Arnold and Evelyn Moan.
Eileen spent her formative years in Waltham and was a graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1962. She previously resided in Newton and has been a resident of Wayland for the past 41 years. She had been associated with the Wayland Apothecary for over 15 years as a Pharmacy Technician and retired from Brooks Pharmacy after several years. For more than 40 years, she and her many high school friends that she grew up met weekly for the “Girls Card Group”. Eileen also enjoyed her monthly dinners with her Wayland friends usually celebrating birthdays. She loved to travel with her husband Paul and especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and her grandchildren.
Visitations will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm in the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 9:00 am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the O’Mara family lot in St, Mary Cemetery in Needham.
