Obituary

EAST BROOKFIELD: Henry J. “Hank” Gagne, Jr., 70 of Stone Rd., died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 21 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Carol A. (Bercume) Gagne, his two daughters Robin M. Gagne of Rutland and Jamie L. Gilman and her husband Wade of N.Brookfield, his mother Mayabelle (Harper) Gagne of E.Brookfield, 8 grandchildren; Amanda, Keyonzia, Hannah, Morgan, Dylan, Tristan, Ava and Logan, 2 great grandsons; Landon and Mason, his brother in law Ronald Bercume of So. Hadley,several nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

Hank was a local builder owning Henry Gagne, Jr. Builders for 35 years before retiring. He was born in E.Brookfield the son of the late Henry J. Gagne, Sr. and later graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer, Class of 1962. He enjoyed fishing at the Quabbin, antique cars, camping and especially his fondness for his grandchildren and family. Along with his wife, they wintered in North Ft. Myers, Fl., for the past 9 years.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 25 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, No. Brookfield Rd., E.Brookfield. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, E.Brookfield. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Rd., Suite 400, Waltham, Ma. 02451.
