West Brookfield - Mildred V. (Peterson) Lindblom, 96, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, May 20, 2013, at the Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. Her husband of 48 years, The Rev. Cecil M. Lindblom, died in 1992. She leaves three sons, David C. and his wife Sue of Brewster, Dennis L. and his wife Eugenie of Holden, Duane G. and his wife Carol of Marion, NC; a daughter, Darlene J. Ballan and her husband David of Fiskdale; a sister, Joyce Mansur of Elk River, MN; ten grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Clifford and Earl Peterson, predeceased her.
She was born in Elk River, Minnesota, daughter of Nellie (Erickson) and Edwin Peterson. As a pastor's wife, she served in a number of churches in Minnesota, Ohio, Michigan, and Massachusetts during his ministry. She was very active at Belmont Street Baptist Church in Worcester for many years. Millie was a woman of great faith. She loved spending time reading God's Word, and she loved spending time with her family.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Lincoln Hill Manor Rest Home of Spencer, Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center of West Brookfield, and Overlook Hospices Services of Charlton for all of the loving care shown to Millie during the end of her earthly journey.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Thursday, May 23, between 5 and 7 pm. The funeral service will be held at Belmont Street Baptist Church, 25 Belmont Street, Worcester, Friday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Sterling. Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Belmont Street Baptist Church, 25 Belmont Street, Worcester MA 01605.
