Martinez, GA---Mr. Jeffrey C. Weeks, 45, entered into rest on Monday, May 20, 2013 at University Hospital, after a long hard battle with lung cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, May 24, 2013, in the Platt’s Belair Road Chapel, with Reverend Ronnie Faircloth, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Jeff had been a resident of Martinez since he was 6 years old. He attended South Columbia Elementary School, Evans Middle School and Evans High School. He was instrumental in planning several reunions, for those who attended Evans High School during the 1980’s.
Jeff was employed for 15 years, at Club Car and was a Crew Leader. He was very well known for his beautiful Christmas Light Display, in the Merrymont Subdivision. He was known as “The Talking Snowman” and also collected donations for Toys for Tots.
As all of Jeff’s friends and family knew, his sense of humor made everyone’s day brighter and he always had a positive attitude and as he stated, so many times, “I’m going to be happy”.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Tracey Wright Weeks, daughter, Lani Frost, mother and step father, Nancy Landrum Adams and Tom Adams, father and step mother, Cecil Weeks and Earlene Weeks, brothers, Cliff E. Weeks (Andrea), Glenn A. Weeks, father in law and mother in law, Billy Wright and Jeri Wright, step sons, Kenneth Koone and Bradley Koone, step daughter, Amanda Koone, step sister, Sherry Fields (David), step brothers, Kim Adams (Sheila) and Tommy Adams, niece, Samantha Weeks and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to thank Dr. Philip Catalano, Dr. Brent Limbaugh and the staff of Augusta Oncology Associates, Dr. Michael Watts, University Hospital and Doctors Hospital, for their compassionate care of Jeff.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Platt’s Belair Road.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Koone, Kenneth Koone, Kevin Hickey, Kanute Tant, Tammy Golden Newsome, Nicole Blackwell Newman and Gina Harveston Allen and Daverin Gallup Slantis. Honorary pallbearers will be Renee Trotter Gavlinski, Rhonda Garrison Murzynski, Rodney Polly, Thomas Hiller and Jill Kirkland.
