Obituary

Charlotte Bernadette Tannehill, 86, died on May 4, 2013 at Prosser Sun Terrace. She was born on August 29, 1926 to Frederick Wooley and Bernadette Bulger Wooley in Great Falls, Montana. She was raised and educated in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She married Donald Clyde Tannehill in June, 1947. Donald worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and they lived for many years in La Grande, Oregon before he was transferred to Portland, Oregon where he retired. They then moved to Prosser, Washington around 1977 to be closer to their beloved grandchildren.

Charlotte enjoying sewing, quilting, cooking and buying and refinishing 2nd hand furniture. While she mostly worked as a mother and housekeeper after her marriage, she had many stories and fond memories of her time working for the railroad prior to her marriage. In fact, she met her husband, Don, when he was sent to help her with a problem she was having on the job. Anything to do with railroads remained of great interest to her especially since her father as well as she and her husband had all worked for the Union Pacific and Great Northern Railways.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Mary and her son, James Donald, both of the Seattle area as well as her grandsons, Ryan, Garrett and Devin Moon and son-in-law Jim Moon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, who died in 2000 and her daughter, Susan Moon, who died in 2011.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, June 1st at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Lower Valley Hospice.
