Obituary

Clarence E. “Ole” Olson of Needham died on Thursday August 12 at the Stanley R. Tippett House in Needham. He was 75 years old. A graduate of San Diego Junior College with a degree in Diesel engineering, “Ole” served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant in the Korean War from 1952 - 1953. His career in the insurance industry was in the support section, starting at the Loyal Protective Insurance Company. He then worked for Fairfield and Ellis, which morphed into Willis Corroon by his retirement. He had 2 aces during his golfing years at Brae Burn Country Club. “Ole” enjoyed working out at the Needham YMCA as well as building dollhouses and restoring antique Model T’s. Husband of Anita (Powell) Olson, he was the father of Lynne S. Olson-Bush and her husband Larry Bush of Reading and the late Mark S. Olson of Needham and Seattle. Proud grandfather of Stephanie and Chad Olson of Leominster. Also survived by a sister, Clarece Moran of Tucson and a brother, Charles of Los Cruces, a number of nephews and 2 special cousins. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday August 19 at the Union Church of Waban at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
