Passed away on May 18th, 2013
He was born in Berlin, Germany March 7, 1936 and lived through hard times during the war and the aftermath. He emigrated to Canada, learned English while earning a college degree in mechanical engineering. He became an American citizen in 1974. John was preceded in death by son David Paul Huehmer, wife Roberta "Bobbie" Huehmer, brother Jerry Huehmer. He is survived by sons Michael and Daniel Huehmer, brother Horst (Ann) Huehmer, sister Luci (Nunzio) Romeo, nieces & nephews. He was a long term 3M employee as mechanical engineer. He hand built the family home and 2 sailboats. He was passionate about sailing, spending many hours on the St. Croix River with his family. John loved his family and was a great advocate for his sons, Michael and Daniel. Many thanks to the nursing and Hospice staffs at Camilia Rose Care Center for their excellent care and concern for John. A small private family observance of his passing is planned.
