Benedetto A. “Rick” Ricciardelli, 82 of Malden, died Sunday unexpectedly in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington, MA.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Malden for the past 37 years and formerly of Medford and East Boston. He was a Mechanical Engineer, employed by GCA of Bedford and retired in 1992. Benedetto was a late U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War from 1952-1955. He was a POW and a MIA also received 3 Purple Hearts and 1 Bronze Star. Late member of the DAV Malden.
Beloved husband of Anne (D'Errico) Ricciardelli. Devoted father of Mary Shannon and her husband William of Chelmsford, Bernadette Ricciardelli and her husband Joseph Corbett of Malden, Anthony Ricciardelli of Lynn and Elizabeth Ricciardelli of Medford. Loving grandfather of Dayna and Leanne Brown, Michelle Shannon and Nolan Corbett. Son of the late Consiglia and Philip Ricciardelli and lovingly raised by the late Elvira and Antonio Ricciardelli.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
