GLOUCESTER: Grace M. (Frontiero) Quince, 74, died early Friday morning, May 17, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers following an extended illness. She was the wife of Capt. John S. Quince.
Born in Gloucester on October 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Sebastian “Busty” and Mary (Aiello) Frontiero. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and attended St. Ann’s School and Gloucester High School.
Grace loved ballroom dancing with John. An avid tennis player, in her earlier years, she played competitively at the Manchester Tennis Club. She also enjoyed painting with water colors, swimming, the beach and she loved walking with her best friend, Rose Agrusso.
She and John took great pleasure in spending winters at their home in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband of fifty-five years, she is survived by her three sons, Gary Quince, companion of Roberta Ragussa, John, Jr., husband of Angela (Sanfilippo) Quince, Sebastian “Sandy”, husband of Kelly (McKay) Quince; her daughter, Tina M., wife of Nicholas Novello; eleven grandchildren, Amanda Quince, fiancée of Ronald Grover, III, Gary Quince, Jr., Christopher Quince, U.S. Army, Zachary Quince, Sheena Quince, fiancée of Ross Brackett, Sabrina, Julia, Tyler and Erica Quince, and Krystina and Ryan Novello; two great-grandsons, Joseph Brackett and Ronald Grover, IV; two sisters, Vincie, wife of Russell Agnello and Anna, wife of James “Jack” Russo, four sisters-in-law, Grace Dagley, Margaret Burke, Mary, wife of Matthew “Ted” Palazola, and Phyllis Quince, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law, Ann Scola and two brothers-in-law, Gaspar Quince and Vito Quince.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
