Obituary

Joseph M. “Bud” Field, age 66, of Noank, passed away Friday.

He was born on Long Island, NY on September 13, 1946 the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Briscoe) Field. He was a graduate of Fitch High School and later joined the U.S. Navy where he served aboard the Fulton. He was employed at Dow Chemical for 24 years before retiring. He later worked at Autopart International for 8 years.

Bud was an avid sports fan, namely The Red Sox and N.Y. Giants. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marinell Field; his siblings, Diane (Ernie) Smith, Terry (Karen) Field, Barry (Jackie) Field, Donnie Whaley, and Wendy (Derrie) Brown; his daughters, Connie Lynch (Ronald Robishaw), Tracy Diacetis, Chris (Mike) Basilicato, and Sherri Brooks; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, his beloved Corgi “Max”, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Wednesday from 3pm-4:45pm, followed by a Graveside Service with presentation of military honors at 5pm at Smith Lake Cemetery, Rte. 1, Groton.
