Ward King, 84, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, May 20, 2013, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. King was born April 4, 1929 in Fitzgerald to the late Tom and Bessie New King. He lived in the community all his life and was a former employee of Fitzgerald Cotton Mill and the City of Fitzgerald in the public works department. He loved to fish and he was a member of Fitzgerald Church of God.
He is survived by a daughter: Brenda Nichols of Fitzgerald; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Joanne Jackson King; a son: Allen King; two brothers and two sisters.
