Stephen “Mark” Barnes, 53, of Rossville, formerly of Donalsonville, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Steve Hood will officiate with burial to follow in Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Jimmy Price, David Sherrill, Alan Stafford, Mitch Fogtman, Ron Foskey and Bobby Roberts will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Barnes was born on January 14, 1960 in Donalsonville and was the son of Leon Barnes of Tifton and Janie Cook Barnes of Tifton. He was a truck driver for Performance Food Service in Morristown, Tennessee.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Belinda Barnes of Rossville; his father and step-mother, Leon and Betty Barnes of Tifton; his mother, Janie Cook Barnes of Tifton; three sons, Korey Barnes and Dallas Barnes, both of Fernandina Beach, Florida and Robert Smith of Atlanta; two daughters, Melissa Seidel and Alicia Seidel Croft, both of Rossville; three brothers, Craig Barnes of Tifton, Britt Barnes of Monticello, Florida and Michael Barnes of Smyrna; one sister, Kay English of Thomson; one grandson; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jerry and Brenda Rice.
