Letha Foster Griffin, 94, of Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Tifton.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Friday, May 17, 2013, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Griffin was born February 1, 1919, in Dodge County, Georgia to the late James Henry Foster and Lucy Jane Allen Foster. She lived in Dodge County and Ben Hill County most of her life. She was a former employee of H. R. Kaminsky & Sons and the Monarch Company where she worked in the cutting room and was later a supervisor. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, growing flowers, sewing, and eating fried fish. Mrs. Griffin loved her family dearly and always enjoyed laughter. She was a member of the former Northside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Susan & Benjaman Harriman of Chula; two granddaughters: Lori & Matthew Watson of Perry and Robin Edge of Ocilla; a grandson: Matthew Griffin Westberry of Tifton and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Henry Griffin and 15 brothers and sisters.
