Lois Adamson, 83, of Irwinville, Georgia, died Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, August 14, 2004 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Adamson was born November 14, 1920, in Douglas, Georgia to the late James Newton and Mamie Lott Sowell. She was a homemaker and of the Church of God faith.
Mrs. Adamson is survived by five children: Carole (Ray) Groover, Dacula, GA, Charles L. (Scotta)Adamson, Clarkston, GA, Connie A. Phillips, Rebecca, GA, Steve (Deborah) Adamson, Locust Grove, GA and Shawn A. (Jimmy) Howell, Fitzgerald; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; five brothers: James N. Sowell, Jr. and William C. “Bill” Sowell, both of Fitzgerald, Homer Sowell, Jacksonville, FL. Bob Sowell, Albany, GA and Arthur Sowell, Carlsbad, CA; one sister: Mamie Ruth Ellington, Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Charles Adamson.
