Martin F. Jenkins, 66, of E. Hampstead, NH died Monday May 13, 2013 in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH following a courageous battle with cancer. Martin was born in Dover, NH on August 2, 1946, a son of the late Francis T. Jenkins and Josephine A. (Pulizzi) Mercier. Martin had resided in E. Hampstead for the last year formerly living in E. Rochester, NH for many years.
Martin retired in 2003 as an Advanced Aircraft Engine Mechanic from General Electric in Lynn, MA where he worked for 35 years. He was a wildlife and nature enthusiast and loved spending time in the White Mountains of NH. Martin was an avid fresh water and salt water fisherman and also enjoyed hunting. In addition, he truly enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Martin is survived his wife, Linda L. Brown-Jenkins of E. Hampstead, two daughters, Janet Jenkins and Janine Jenkins both of NH, one stepson, William Brown, Jr. of Windham, NH, two grandchildren and many cousins.
Calling hours were held on Thursday May 16, 2013 from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at 10:00am in St. Matthew’s Church, Searles Rd., Windham. Following cremation, private burial will be in Cemetery on the Plain, Windham. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA.
