Earl C. Allsop, Jr., age 75, of Duxbury, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.
He was the founder of Advanced Signal Corporation of Randolph. A lifelong athlete, he enjoyed sailing, tennis, golf and biking. Born in Quincy, he was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1957 where he played football and basketball. He also attended Northeastern University. He held a master electrician license in all of the New England states. He was past treasurer of South Shore Signal Association, secretary-treasurer of Automatic Fire Alarm Association and served on the Board of Directors of National Fire Alarm Distributors. He was also a member of the Polar Bear Club of Barrow, Alaska.
He is survived by his beloved high school sweetheart and wife of 54 years, Joanne (Caristo). He was devoted to his four daughters: Susan Pierter and her husband Michael of Portland, Maine; Lauren Hogan and her husband Michael of Alpharetta, Georgia; Jan Hudlin and her husband David of Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and Denine Leeman and her husband Stephen of Scarborough, Maine. He was cherished by his 10 grandchildren: Mitchell and Max Pierter; Lindsay, Kelly and Catherine Hogan; Matthew and Andrew Hudlin; and Alexandra Ray, Brooke and Victoria Leeman. Brother of Barbara Oliver of Weymouth, Ronald Allsop of Quincy, and James Allsop of Carver. He was the son of the late Earl and Jean Allsop of Quincy.
Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Monday, May 13, 2013, from 4:00-8:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury, on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 10:00 AM, followed by burial in the Mayflower Cemetery, 774 Tremont Street, Duxbury.
