SEABROOK, NH – Judy M. O’Connell, 65 of Seabrook, NH passed away peacefully on Sunday May 5, 2013 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA with her family by her side.
Born in Methuen, she attended local schools and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence, MA. For 20 years Judy was employed with the Essex County Sheriffs Department and was a member of the Lions Club in Seabrook. Judy loved the beach walking along the shore, enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, grandchildren, friends and especially with her dog Finnegan.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Ratcliffe and her husband Bruce of Salisbury, MA and her son, Michael A. Sedgwick of Pahrump, NV.
Judy is also survived her mother Dorothy O’Connell of Methuen, MA and one brother and three sisters; Richard O’Connell and his wife Susan of Franklin, NH, Gail Fournier and her husband Tom of Derry, NH, Susan Gendron and her husband Jerry of Salem, NH and Dawn Aleci and her husband Joe of Methuen, MA.
Grandchildren, Ryan, Sandra and Kyle Ratcliffe. Judy also leaves her lifelong friend Linda Fortin and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Judy was the daughter of the late Francis X. O’Connell and sister of the late Jack O’Connell.
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or to Merrimack Valley Hospice House 360 North St., Haverhill, MA 01832. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Thursday morning from 10:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later time at the families’ convenience.
