Ernestine “Teny” NeSmith Gibbs , 74, wife of the late Charles F. “Buddy” Gibbs entered into rest on May 6, 2013 at Brandon Wilde.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Evans, located at the corner of Washington Road at Belair Road on Friday, May 10, 2013 with Rev. Chip Reeves officiating. Burial will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Rosehill Cemetery, Ashburn, GA.
A native of Bulloch County, Ernestine “Teny” grew up in Brooklet and Statesboro, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Lois Gerald NeSmith and C.E. NeSmith. Teny received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at Georgia Southern College. After several careers, Teny retired as the library accountant from the Greenblatt Library, Medical College of Georgia in 1998. After retirement, she became more involved with First Baptist Church of Evans, where she had been a member since 1976. Teny also was very active with the Willow Wood Garden Club, Georgia Power Ambassadors, Georgia Southern Eagle Club, and Sunshine Sunday School.
She has gone to join the love of her life the late Buddy Gibbs.
She is survived by three children, Tammy Gibbs Shepherd and her husband Stan, of Evans, Bryan K. Gibbs and his wife, Renae, of Sandersville, and Matthew C. Gibbs and his wife, Terri, of Evans, and six grandchildren: Cody Shepherd, Jake Shepherd, Parker Gibbs, Chandler Gibbs, Ansley Gibbs, and Jordan Lawrence; her sister Dianne Jenkins and her husband, John, of Norcross, GA., and many brother and sister- in- laws, niece and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers: Willow Wood Garden Club, Evans, and the Sunshine Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Evans.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Platts Funeral Home, 337 N. Belair Road.
