Lillie Bell Hale Whittmore, age 78, died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born in Arkansas, September 23, 1934 to the late Clarence and Iva Stice Hale. Lillie worked as a secretary for Barnhart Services in Memphis, TN before she retired. She was a member of the SPCA and Sylva Rena Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS. She enjoyed camping, cooking, fishing, doing yard work, sewing and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Visitation is planned for Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 6, 2013 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. David Roberson officiating. Jim Doris, Lloyd Thompson, Roger Thomas, Pete Bennett, Milton Hix and Joe Pilkington will serve as pallbearers.
Lillie is survived by her son, Jerry (Jackie) Acuff of Atlanta, GA; one brother, William (Nora) Hale of FL; three grandchildren, Jesse Acuff, Christian Acuff and Brian Kronschnabl; and her caregiver and special friend, Rose Bennett of Water Valley, MS.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Whittmore and her daughter, Donna Acuff.
