Dorothy “Ma Boo” Vance Holmes, 73, of Tifton died Monday, May 6, 2013, at her residence. Private family services and burial will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Holmes was born on December 6, 1939 in Tift County and was the daughter of Henry Harding Vance and Dorothy Branch Vance, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Todd Holmes; and a grandson, James Stone. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Holmes is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rhonda and Jimmy Stone of Tifton, Donna Holmes of North Carolina and Leslie and Wes Hunter of Tifton; one brother, Bill Vance of Tifton; one sister, Dorris Burton of Saint Simons, Island; six grandchildren, Jennifer Stone, James Epps, John Robert Epps, Dee Epps, Marie Crumley and Wesley Hunter; three great-grandchildren, Kaiden Stone, Millie Crumley and Paislee Crumley; special friends, Norma Tucker and her girls, Vicki and Chris, and Hannah Kestner and Mike Ellis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
