Patricia C. (Beinar) Kelley, 57, of Leicester died Wednesday, May 1st in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves her husband of 27 years, James E. Kelley; a daughter, Alina Kelley of Leicester; her mother, Elizabeth A. (Hoyle) Beinar of Auburn; two brothers, Stephen Beinar of Burlington, MA and Paul Beinar of Webster; a sister, Nancy Thomas and her husband John of North Brookfield; eight nieces and nephews, and many friends.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Walter Beinar who died in 2007. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1973 and UMass Amherst in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, Cum Laude. In her career as a technical writer, Pats last 2 jobs were at Geac Software for 8 years and PNC Global Investing Servicing for 10 years, both of Westborough. Pat had a love of running and walking her whole life, and every afternoon she could be found outside walking the dog for 5-7 miles, sometimes while reading a book! She also loved the beach, and she and her family traveled to Florida every year for their vacation.
Her funeral is Tuesday, May 7th with a service at 11:30 in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 10:30 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pan Mass Challenge, a fund-raising bike ride for cancer that her brother Steve is doing this year in honor of Pat.
