NATICK: Veronica T. “Ronnie” (Flanagan) Jewell, age 94, a long time Natick resident, died peacefully at her home on Friday, May 3, 2013
She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Jewell for 30 years.
Born in Concord on January 3, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary (Thornton) Flanagan. Ronnie was a 1936 graduate of Concord High School and continued her education at the Burdett Business School.
Ronnie and Joe met while each was working in Boston. They married on August 23, 1947, and made their home on Mission Hill prior to settling in Natick in 1959. After several years of employment as a secretary with Fair and Yeager Insurance Agency in Natick Center, Ronnie worked for the Federal Government at the Natick Labs until her retirement. She was an ardent volunteer for many years at the Pine Street Inn, helping others in numerous capacities. Ronnie enjoyed socializing with friends, playing golf, and sewing and knitting.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann H. Jewell and her husband Charles Pasewark of Framingham; a son, Paul J. Jewell of Framingham; a grandson, Evan Pasewark; and a sister, Rita Keller of Westwood. She was also a sister of the late Mary, John, Thomas and Margaret Flanagan.
Her Funeral will be from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, Natick, on Tuesday, May 7th at 9:00a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery.
