Obituary

Anna Bacon Fraser passed away peacefully on May 1, 2013 at Medway Country Manor. Anna was 103 at the time of her death and always said that she came from good Canadian stock. She was the daughter of the late Jason and Mary (Flanders) Bacon of Newton MA. She was predeceased by her two sisters Katherine Bacon of Newton and Gertrude (Bacon) Brown of Natick. Anna graduated from Newton North High and Chandler Secretarial School. Upon graduation she worked for noted Endocrinologist Dr. Shields Warren. She met the love of her life Robert A. Fraser with whom she married in 1949. Their love produced a son, Allan B. Fraser. Upon the death of Robert in 1957, she took on the role of single mother and went back to work at Andover Newton Theological School. She was a lifelong member of Newton Center Methodist Church serving on numerous committees. Anna loved to travel and her greatest joy were trips back to Canada to visit relatives. She will be sadly missed by her surviving son Allan B. Fraser and his wife, Mary Beth (Corbett) Fraser, their children Meghan Fraser-Elvira and her husband Miguel of Orlando FL, Caitlyn Fraser, Kerry Anne Fraser and Alexander Fraser all of Franklin MA. Her Step grandchildren Jocelyn (Fraser)Rivard and husband Ron of Atlanta GA, Robert Fraser and his wife Tanya of Tacoma WA, Dana Fraser and his wife Suzie of Panama City FL, Gregory Fraser and his wife Janet of Lexington Ma, and Mathew Fraser and his wife Nermal of Berkley, CA. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 15 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street, Franklin. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to The Attleboro Taunton Children’s Board and mailed to: Dept of Children and Families 1 Washington Street Suite 21 Taunton Ma 02780.
